Meet Thena! Thena is a resilient and affectionate Shiba mix who was rescued in early 2021 alongside her seven siblings. Born during the pandemic, Thena faced the challenge of finding a loving forever or temporary home during unprecedented times. Due to limited foster spaces, she has lived in various environments—including a corporate vet, an old kennel facility, and now a new shelter.
Despite these changes, Thena’s charming temperament has remained unwavering. She has grown into a beautiful dog who adores both humans and other dogs. Thena has a truly precious personality. She loves to shower volunteers with kisses to show her appreciation and often asks for head and butt scratches. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes. As you might expect from her photos, Thena is a low-energy dog who enjoys lounging and being a cozy couch potato. However, she also knows how to switch into play mode when the moment calls for it, balancing her relaxed nature with playful fun. Thena is comfortable on a leash, although her experience has been limited due to a lack of opportunities.
As a Shiba mix, she has a bit of a stubborn streak during walks, so she might require some gentle negotiation to keep moving. Patience and understanding will go a long way in making walks enjoyable for both of you. Overall, Thena is an easy-going dog who opens her heart quickly and adapts well to new environments. She doesn’t require frequent moves but might need some helps for managing her weight.
