Oreo
Hi, I’m Oreo!
My name is Oreo, and I think it’s a pretty perfect name for me. I’m mostly black with a handsome white stripe on my chest, and I’ve been told I’m as sweet as the cookie I’m named after.
If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh every day, I might be your guy. One of my favorite things to do is stand up on my tippy toes like a little person so I can see what’s going on. I just have to know everything! My foster family says it’s one of the funniest things I do.
I’m a happy, active boy who loves to run, play, and have fun. If you have a smaller dog looking for a playmate, we’ll probably become best friends. I also love toys, treats, and learning new things. In fact, if snacks are involved, I’m extra motivated to show off how smart I am!
I’m housebroken and crate trained. I do my best with potty habits, although if I get really nervous or anxious, I might have a little accident. My crate is my safe place, though. I may whine for a couple of minutes when my foster family leaves, but then I settle down and relax until they come home.
I really love being around my foster people. Whether you’re watching TV, working at their desk, or cooking dinner, you’ll usually find me nearby because I enjoy being part of the family.
Now, I want to be honest because I know finding the right match is important.
Sometimes I get a little too excited when I see people or other dogs on walks. I bark loudly and really want to go say hello, especially if it’s another dog. It’s not because I’m mean—it’s because my excitement and curiosity get the better of me. When I’m focused on my walk, I do much better, but sometimes I just can’t help myself. Cats are especially interesting to me, so a home without cats would probably be best.
At my foster home, I also like to let everyone know when something exciting is happening outside. Garbage trucks, gardeners, the mail carrier—I take neighborhood security very seriously!
Even with these quirks, everyone who knows me says I’m loving, funny, adorable, and incredibly smart. I have so much potential with someone who understands that I just need a little guidance and patience when we’re out in the world. Because I’m so food motivated, training is actually something I enjoy.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling, make you laugh with my silly tippy-toe balancing act, and shower you with love, I hope you’ll come meet me.
