Meet Daru! Daru was rescued by our rescue partner from a rooftop hoarding situation in Daejeon during the winter. A total of 21 dogs were found abandoned in freezing temperatures, surviving by huddling together on a rooftop covered in waste. What began as one dog grew into many through repeated breeding under neglect. After long discussions with the owner, all dogs, along with additional puppies, were safely rescued just before heavy snowfall. Daru has now left that confined rooftop behind and is preparing for a new life.
Daru is a calm looking but deeply affectionate boy with a uniquely charming personality. At first, he may seem quiet and observant, often gazing with his signature “blank” expression, but the moment he receives attention, his tail and whole body start wagging with excitement. He is honest with his emotions, loves human interaction, and is always ready to shower his people with affection.
He enjoys a balanced lifestyle, short daily walks combined with plenty of rest and bonding time with his humans. While he is generally social with other dogs, he may need gentle guidance around sharing treats and personal space. With time and positive experiences, he continues to build stable relationships.
Daru’s ideal home offers patience, warmth, and consistent love. As he is still learning about the world beyond the rooftop, he may be cautious in new environments at first, but his gentle and people-loving nature helps him adjust quickly. He would thrive with a family who respects his pace, spends quality time with him, and helps him build happy everyday memories.
He can do well as an only dog or with a friendly companion. Daru is waiting for a family who will embrace the overflowing love hidden behind his calm, gentle expression. We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog. Daru is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
