Brief Bio:

Meet Sammie! For 365 days, Sammie was chained on a short 4ft leash by a truck. He stayed there rain or shine with no shelter, rarely any water and only moldy or leftover food. One day Sammie was hit by a car and left severely injured without any medical treatment because the owner had refused to pay. Sammie quickly deteriorated and got down to only 30lbs before the owner allowed rescuers to take him to the vet.

Unfortunately Sammie had missed the “golden time” for surgery therefore recovery will be very difficult.
The rescuer still decided to get him the surgery to see about repairing the broken bones. Sammie was in recovery for months but the surgery was not a completely success due to the delay in treatment. Regardless Sammie was feeling better and getting stronger each day. The rescuer had to fight for him to stay in rehab because his owner had wanted to get him back on the short leash. Thankfully the rescuer was able to convince the owners to surrender after months of back and forth.

Sammie is now a healthy and happy boy, he would love nothing more then to find his forever home. We are looking for a home that will continue to show Sammie what it means to be in a home. Sammie is patiently waiting!
