Meet Vida! Vida was found along a highway outside Bahia Chal, Costa Rica. She was skinny, covered in ticks and fleas and was missing hair. She was excited to receive food and very friendly. She seemed to know she was being saved once she was picked up and put in the car. She gave the sweetest snuggles and didn’t leave her rescuer’s lap for the entire five hour drive to Monteverde, where a caring veterinarian agreed to care for and board her until she was healthy enough to travel and a flight angel could be found.

Vida is friendly with everyone and everything she meets! She loves people, kids, other dogs and even was cat tested! The only health condition for Vida is a skin infection that caused her to lose some fur, however she is currently in the process of healing! Vida knows the sit command and walks perfectly on a leash, no pulling. Vida’s foster home jokes that she is part mountain goat because she is all etc jump over baby gates.

Vida was rescued along with Chepita, a wire-haired terrier mix. They have traveled together from Costa Rica to Los Angeles and finally to the SF Bay Area. Because they spent over 2 months together, they find companionship with one another. We are hoping they can find a forever home together, but they will also be ok separated.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of the family. Vida is patiently waiting!
