Meet May! May is an adorable 4 year old Jindo mix. She was rescued from irresponsible owners who kept her chained and neglected. When she was first spotted by a member of a rescue team, she was pregnant with quintuplets, underfed, and unsheltered on a hot summer day. Neither clean water nor proper food was to be found, and it was clear that May had been in such a poor condition for a long period of time. When the rescue team learned that the mama was pregnant, they had to move fast as it wasn’t the place for her to give birth, and it was the only way to save her and her pups. It took weeks to persuade the owners to surrender the whole family. With the persistent effort of the team, May and her pups were saved.

May is very gentle and tender. She might be the most well behaved dog you can imagine! Although she has lived neglected life entirely, her sweet nature never been compromised. She could be reluctant to happily greet someone new but it wouldn’t take long for her to let people be close to her. Possibly from a few hours to a day. She is not a type of dog who likes to jump and run. She would rather prefer to stay low in her bed waiting for her family.

May is good with both men and women. She likes to eat any foods, especially yummy homemade treats. At night, she is currently sleeping with her pups in a room. Even though she is still in training for a walk, she quite enjoys walking outside and she is good on leash. Walking freely outside with her family could have been her lifelong dream when she was chained up to the pole. She looks joyful with a light walk everyday.

This sweet girl already understands a few basic commands like wait, come, no, go back in Korean. She would listen to you very well when you train her. Riding a car is not a problem to her. May is patiently waiting for her own family that she can live with happily for rest of her life.

We are looking for a home who can provide her quiet and consistent environment. A family who likes outdoor activities wouldn’t be a good fit. She is a low energy dog and likes being a companion dog staying calm throughout the days and nights. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. May is patiently waiting!
