Meet Rookie! Rookie is an adorable 6 months old Jindo mix. He was rescued along with his siblings when he was little puppy. Poor little boy was suffering from the skin troubles, which covered all his body. All his siblings got adopted because they were smaller than Rookie, only Rookie couldn’t find a home.

Rookie is a very energetic and playful puppy who loves to play with other dogs. He could be little shy at first but it wouldn’t take more than a day for him to warm up. Just patiently waiting for him to approach first would be a good idea. Treat and squeaky toys could be a magic button. Once he opens up, he will be very friendly to the family asking to play with him.

Rookie gets along well with men and women. If a stranger tries to approach to him, he could bark out of fear though. He gets along well with other dogs. When treats are given, he knows how to wait for his turn while his dog friends are getting it. Rookie is so good with other dogs and shares his toys with hin with no signs of resource guarding at all.

He is very food motivated and eats his food so quickly, a slow feeder is recommended. Rookie usually shares the bed his foster home at night. He is fond of playing tug of a war and love to play with balls and squeaky toys. This smart pup understands his name well and would respond to a few commands like sit, wait whenever his foster is holding treats on hands. He is ok with riding a car if you leave the window open but make sure he wears the harness and you hold the leash as he can get over excited by looking at bikes passing by.

Rookie’s ideal family would be a home who lives in a suburban area rather than the city as he gets easily frightened by the sound. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred as he loves to run and play. A home who will continue his socialization is required because he is still a puppy.

We are looking for a home who is patient and will slowly show Rookie that the world is not a scary place. Rookie is patiently waiting!
