Meet Zazi 💕

A little Frenchie with a big heart — and a serious need for belly rubs!

Hi! I’m Zazi, and I’m pretty sure you’re going to fall in love with me.  I’m a beautiful 3- to 5-year-old French Bulldog girl, weighing in at a sturdy 32 pounds. I have a gorgeous gray and black merle coat, but my foster mom says my very best feature is my sweet personality.

I’m a loving, affectionate girl who really enjoys being with my people. In fact, I’m not shy about asking for what I want! If I need some love, I’ll gently paw at you to let you know it’s affection time. And believe me, I have plenty of love to give back.

I had a bit of a rough start in life. I’ve had at least one litter of puppies, and thankfully, I was rescued before I could be passed along and used for breeding again. Now I’m learning what it’s like to simply be a dog — and I’m discovering that life is pretty darn wonderful when you’re loved.

I have a pug foster brother, and we get along well. I’d probably be happiest as the only dog getting all the attention, or sharing my home with another independent dog who doesn’t need to be attached at the hip. I’m still figuring out this whole “toys” thing, though. Apparently dogs are supposed to play with them? Nobody has convinced me yet.

But walks? Now THAT I understand! I’m excellent on leash and love getting out and about. When I’m excited, I have a very funny habit of rolling onto my back. So when my foster mom brings out my harness, I may immediately go belly-up like, “Yes! Let’s do this!”  And I also absolutely LOVE rolling around on the grass. And the pavement. Really, if there’s a surface available, I may decide it needs a little Zazi roll. I’m very enthusiastic about it.

I recently had a dental exam, and my mouth had clearly been through some hard times. Two teeth needed to be removed, and quite a few of my remaining teeth are worn down almost to nothing. My foster mom wonders if some of that may be from chewing on a cage during my days as a breeding dog. Whatever happened back then is behind me now. I’m getting the care I need, and I’m ready to enjoy the good life I should have had all along.

These days, I’m all about walks, belly rubs, rolling around, and being close to my people.  I’m a hardy little Frenchie with a soft heart, and once I decide you’re my person, you’ll know it. I’ll gently paw at you when I need some affection, curl up with you, and give you all the love I have.

I’ve spent enough of my life being valued for what I could produce. Now I’m ready to be loved simply for being Zazi.

Could you be the person who shows me just how wonderful that can be?  If so, complete an application and do it well!  They are very particular about who gets to meet me, let alone adopt me. Hopefully we’ll meet soon!
