Meet Yogi!
Yogi has already had quite the journey, and now he’s looking for a forever home where he can finally settle down.
He was found as a stray near a neighborhood park in April 2026 with no collar. After being scanned for a microchip at a local 24-hour veterinary hospital, it was discovered that the phone number associated with the chip was no longer connected to his owner. Bradshaw Animal Shelter was able to provide a little more of Yogi’s history: he was originally found as a stray in Galt, CA, transferred to the shelter, and reclaimed by an owner in early March 2026. Beyond that, little is known, but it’s clear this resilient boy has been through a lot in his short life.
Despite his past, Yogi is a sweet, gentle dog with so much love to give. He would do best with an individual or family familiar with his breed who understands that building trust takes patience and consistency. He is naturally shy and timid around new people and may try to hide or keep his distance at first. Once he feels safe, though, his affectionate personality shines through, and he loves to cuddle with the people he trusts.
Yogi is very playful and enjoys the company of other dogs. He currently lives peacefully with three other dogs and has formed a particularly close bond with a female Husky. Because he enjoys having canine companionship, he would likely thrive in a home with another friendly, well-socialized dog to help build his confidence.
He loves going for walks, hiking, car rides, and watching the world go by from the window. Yogi is highly treat-motivated, enjoys chewing on bones, loves playing with toys, and isn’t picky about his food.
Yogi is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue helping him build confidence and experience the stability he deserves. For the right family, he’ll be a loyal, loving companion whose sweetest moments come after earning his trust.
