Meet Uzu! Uzu was 1 of 11 dogs that were used in a protest on Dec 4, 2023, cages of dogs were lined up and even seen tossed off the truck onto the sidewalk while they set up the protest. To oppose the recent bill passed in Korea that bans dog meat trade and consumption, the dog meat farmers dumped 11 mastiff dogs in tiny cages outside of the government building. They thought it would make a statement but it backfired on their end. Instead, these 11 dogs now get to LIVE! Rescuers rushed to the shelter where they were being held and found them in horrible condition due to their size and the shelter workers not wanting to deal with them. They were left inside the exact cages they were dumped in, barely able to move, stand or even sit up! The cages were raised over cement blocks and they pretty much in floating cages with no solid flooring.

Rescuers knew they had to get them out ASAP because they were at risk of getting returned to the meat farmers. With teamwork, all 11 were rescued and Flora was one of them!

Uzu is a sweet boy who is still learning what life is like outside of a tiny cage. Uzu had to learn how to walk on solid flooring and how to just be a dog! Uzu can be shy but you can tell he is craving affection! We are looking for a savvy home that will continue to work with Uzu and show him what it means to be in a loving family! Uzu is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
