Meet Sunny! Sunny is a sweet and playful 10 months old lab mix. She loves her people, loves her walks, and is a happy girl in general! Sunny is very food motivated and loves to learn new things. She learned how to sit and shake in a few hours! She also knows down, stay, and spin. She’s a quick learner and will be able to learn any tricks her forever family wants to teach her. She’s food motivated (she happily eats kibble outside!) and she is working on heeling on her walks and sitting when she sees other dogs and squirrels. She loves going outside and likes to pick up sticks and sniff around the neighborhood.

Sunny would be great for an active family. She has an amount of puppy energy to burn off, and she would thrive in a home where she gets to go on outings and adventures, play lots of fetch, or live with another higher-energy dog in the home. Once she is fully grown (which is pretty close to now), she would do great with someone who wants a jogging companion. If sweet Sunny gets enough exercise and mental stimulation (with puzzle toys), she is relaxed and settles well in the house. She is very affectionate and loves to have attention from her foster parents. When she’s on her own, she’ll entertain herself with her toys or sleep in her bed.

At first, Sunny had separation anxiety, but now she can self soothe and rest calmly (or sleep) while her foster parents are away. She’s a smart girl, and she’s responding well to her foster family’s separation training! Her adoptive family will just need to keep going with the training, and continue providing her with structure.

Sunny would be the perfect hiking, running, or walking partner! We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Sweet, happy, playful, loving Sunny is patiently waiting!
