Hi! Rusty here! I was found as a stray and taken to the shelter, but my previous owners never came looking for me. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise because Love and Second Chances stepped in and promised to help me find the absolute best forever home.
I’m an easygoing guy with a super shiny, soft apricot-and-tan coat that gives me that adorable, scruffy look. I love to play and get along amazingly well with other dogs! I’m super socially smart and read the room really well. If the other dogs are playing, I’m right there joining in on the fun. But if it’s nap time, I happily curl up in my bed and snooze right alongside my furry friends.
When it comes to everyday life, I’m about as low-stress as they come. I have great leash manners, no leash reactivity, and I don’t guard my toys or food. I also don’t suffer from separation anxiety, so I’m completely content to hang out calmly and wait for you to come home.
I can be a little bit shy when I first meet new people or encounter unfamiliar situations, but don’t let that fool you, I warm up super fast and recover from new interactions in a flash! Once I know I’m safe, my sweet and playful personality comes right out. Plus, if you happen to have a treat in your hand, you’ll instantly become my absolute favorite person. I am very treat-motivated, which makes getting to know me and doing training together a total breeze.
I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I am all set to join your home! My foster humans and the rescue team are being picky about who gets to meet me, and they should be, I’m a special guy! So if you think I might be your match, do a good job on that application.
