Roger
Howdy! My name is Roger and I’m looking for my perfect home. I’m a male, 16 pound, bichon frise mix. I was found as a stray in Contra Costa County. The shelter could not find my owners, so I was put up for adoption. Love and Second Chances rescued me, saying I looked like “a happy camper.” Although the shelter says I’m 7 years old, the vet thinks I could be as young as 4 because of my teeth and energy level.
I’m a curious and busy, busy, little guy, always on the move when I’m awake. But when it’s nap time, I’m a full-fledged lap pooch. I follow my foster mom everywhere to make sure she always has company while cooking or doing household chores. I love to play with balls and stuffies by myself or with any dog or human who wants to play. I enjoy picking toys out of the toy box. Oh! And tug-o-war! I love tug-o-war!
My buddies that I live with are great friends; I get along well with them and we almost never get in trouble together. My foster mom tells me I’m a good boy.
I am working on my potty training. I know how to go outside alone through a dog door to do my business when my foster mom is at work and am working on communicating my needs when the door is closed. I love the days when my foster mom works from home because I get to take a long morning nap next to her while she works. I roam freely in the house during the day but I’m slowly learning that a crate could be a safe place. I like to sit in front of the living room window and watch people and cars pass by. I am a good house guardian. I do enjoy sleeping on the bed with my humans – I sleep all through the night!
I love attention! Especially getting my rear end scratched! So much so that I’m called a twerker; I’ll rub my butt up and down (twerking) – against the wall, your leg, etc. Anything goes if I can get my rump scratched!
I’m neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and ready to go! Are you looking for a great guy like me? If so, fill out an application and do a good job—my foster mom is picky about who gets to meet me!
