Chestnut
Meet Chestnut! Chestnut had a sad start to life. He was originally found in Cabo, Mexico after someone had cruelly broken his jaw with a hammer. Thankfully, rescuers were able to get him the medical care he needed and repair his jaw. As a result, he has an adorable little “joker smile” on his left side that only adds to his charm. Despite everything he’s been through, Chestnut is incredibly loving, resilient, and wonderfully well-adjusted.
Chestnut is an absolute sweetheart who LOVES to cuddle. He’s happiest curled up next to his people on the couch, staring deeply into your eyes and gently pawing at you for attention. While he still has his playful puppy moments and enjoys the occasional zoomies, Chestnut is not a high-energy dog. He’s perfectly content lounging around and relaxing while his foster parents are at work: he does great being left home alone without separation anxiety.
Chestnut has gained so much confidence in his foster home and is friendly with everyone he meets. He loves exploring hiking trails, though because of his past injuries, he’s happiest with moderate adventures rather than long, strenuous outings.
Sadly, due to complications from his previous injuries, Chestnut later had to have one of his eyes removed. He has fully recovered and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. Now all this sweet boy needs is a forever family to call his own.
We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of raising and caring for a dog as a cherished member of the family. Chestnut is patiently waiting to meet you!
