Meet May! May was rescued after our rescue partner  investigated a report in a new town in Suncheon, where a dog slaughter operation was taking place right next to a quiet residential area. Shockingly, the slaughterer kept his own dogs as loved “pets” while ending the lives of others. Fortunately, local officials swiftly moved the dogs in danger to a shelter before the site was erased. Our rescue partner saved seven dogs in total from this place—six from the shelter and one directly from the slaughterer. Every single life deserves to be loved as family, not treated as meat.

May is a total sweetheart who loves pets, cuddles, and human affection! She is super food-motivated and smart, quickly mastering cute tricks like “sit,” “paw,” “nose,” and “high-five.” She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, making her a friendly little housemate. May is completely housebroken on pee pads (without the cover) and loves using her crate as a cozy safe space to relax. Though she tested heartworm positive right after rescue, she successfully completed her injection treatments in June and is doing great and super healthy now! She gets a little motion sick in the car and is currently working on leash and harness training with tasty treats. An ideal home for sweet May would be a patient and loving family ready to continue her positive reinforcement training!

We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog. May is patiently waiting!
