Lemon
Meet Lemon, a sweet, shy, and low-maintenance pup who will melt your heart with her docile nature and obedient demeanor. Lemon was rescued from living a life in a field being used for breeding. Fortunately rescuers were able to convince the owners to surrender her and she was able to get to the vet for a full check up. Lemon has since gotten a clean bill of health and is ready to find her forever home. She loves head scratches, belly rubs, and quiet moments spent with her humans.
Daytime Routine
Lemon is quite independent during the day. She enjoys relaxing in her cozy dog bed, soaking up the sun, and napping the hours away. She’s mastered the doggie door and knows how to use it like a pro. While Lemon hasn’t been crate-trained, she’s been enjoying her access to the backyard.
Evening Cuddles and Bedtime
As night falls, Lemon becomes a little cuddle bug. She loves snuggling up when she’s sleepy but is equally content resting in her bed nearby. Lemon sleeps peacefully in the same room as her foster family, enjoying their comforting presence. Due to her traumatic past, she has a fear of the dark, but she’s making progress with lots of patience and positive reinforcement.
Compatibility with Other Dogs
Lemon lives harmoniously with two other dogs, one large and one small, and has shown no issues. While she’s still learning the joys of doggy playtime, she occasionally engages in playful moments. She doesn’t guard her food or toys but has a curious eye for loose items around the house—especially plastic bags, papers, and small objects. She does have a knack for rummaging through garbage using her clever snout and paws,so dog-proofing the home is highly recommended.
Leash and Outdoor Adventures
Lemon is a dream on walks—she’s calm, non-reactive, and loves exploring at her own pace. Recently, she’s started enjoying brisker walks, which is great for shedding a couple of extra pounds. She handles car rides and public outings with ease, remaining calm and well-behaved.
Personality and Behavior
Lemon may be a little reserved when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and reveals her gentle, loving self. She can be protective of her home, barking at strangers or noises outside, but she adjusts with time. As a natural alarm dog, she may alert you to neighbors or gardeners but otherwise keeps to herself.
Lemon is ready to find a patient, loving forever family who will continue to nurture her confidence and embrace her gentle spirit. We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of raising and owning a dog. Lemon is patiently waiting!
