Meet Flower! On March 2025, our rescue partners rushed to Gyeongnam after receiving word that a massive wildfire was rapidly spreading. Flames swept across multiple regions—Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, Andong, and Yeongdeok—destroying kennels and leaving animals trapped with no way to escape. Some dogs fled but collapsed from burns and exhaustion; others, still tied by their collars, couldn’t take a single step to save themselves. When the fire engulfed one of the kennels, the father dog and one puppy tragically did not survive. Miraculously, the mother dog and three puppies were found alive. Flower, together with her mom and siblings, was rescued and brought into rescue care, beginning her second chance at life.

Flower is a curious little lady full of heart. One of her eyes still carries a faint trace of the wildfire, but soft, healthy fur has begun to grow around it. The trembling fear once reflected in her eyes is now replaced by bright curiosity as she discovers the world. Flower hops and scampers after other dogs, and when she sees people, she runs straight toward them with pure excitement—confident that anyone she meets will be ready to scoop her up in a hug. She carries no doubt or suspicion toward the world despite surviving a massive fire. Hug her tightly when she runs toward you—she believes wholeheartedly that she will be loved.

To Flower, people are the best friends in the world. She leaps, wiggles, and flaps her paws with excitement just to get closer. She’s happiest when she can spend the whole day interacting, playing, and following her humans around. As a young, energetic pup, Flower greets every dog she meets with enthusiasm and wants to play right away. She has a bright, forward personality, so she’ll need help learning how to approach more timid or senior dogs with gentler manners instead of overwhelming them with excitement.

Flower is a go-go-go type puppy—if she’s awake, she’s ready to move! Once her leash manners are fully established, she will benefit from at least two walks per day. Providing chew toys and enrichment activities indoors will help her expend her boundless puppy energy as well. Flower is actively learning everything she needs for life with a family. Early on, she was hesitant during walks, but now she absolutely loves them. She can get overly excited when meeting people or dogs outdoors, sometimes jumping or rolling around from pure joy. She is learning impulse control and polite greetings with consistent practice. She currently uses pee pads with about an 80% success rate for urination, while she prefers to poop outdoors. Continued guidance will help her establish reliable habits.

Flower is generally healthy but not a big eater. She will need support to ensure she receives balanced nutrition. She also experiences car sickness and may resist getting into vehicles, so careful handling during transport is important. Flower needs a family ready to ride the rollercoaster of puppyhood with her. She is learning how to live with humans for the first time, and she thrives in a lively, loving home that will celebrate her curiosity and playful spirit. Running around the house like a mischievous cartoon duo, playing together at the park, growing into a loyal companion who communicates with a glance, and staying by her side even in her senior years—this is the journey Flower hopes to share with her family.

She could be the cherished only child of the household or join a home with a well-mannered dog who can act as a positive role model. A family familiar with raising young dogs—or patient enough to learn alongside her—will help Flower adapt quickly and flourish. Flower is patiently waiting!
