Meet Doson! Doson arrived from Seoul, South Korea in mid March and was very shy at first. It took her a few days to warm up to her new environment and now she is very friendly and happy. She loves people once she gets to know them and comes to give kisses and is very loving. Every morning she comes out of her crate so excited to greet her foster home and play! She is independent and likes sleeping during the day. She doesn’t like to cuddle yet but is fine being picked up, likes pets and will sit on the couch or in bed with you if you invite her to.

Doson can be playful with other dogs that she is comfortable around and knows but mostly ignores dogs and prefers humans/toys. She is friendly and playful with her foster dog sibling. She’s good on leash but could use some general training to improve her leash walking. She doesn’t really pull and is easy to get to walk where you want her to go. She likes to sniff around and isn’t too interested in other dogs while walking. She loves going on walks and is not afraid of the city streets. She can be a little skittish around certain strangers / big dogs but is fine if you keep your distance. She loves chasing birds and squirrels while on walks and will sniff out any gopher holes in grass. She also likes to sunbathe and nap outside.

Doson isn’t super food motivated, but will graze on her food throughout the day. She isn’t very interested in treats and doesn’t beg for food. She does like to burrow her treats in her bed to save for later, but doesn’t resource guard if we take it away. She hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression as she willingly shares her food with her foster dog.  She loves chewing on her toys and will rip them apart, but that’s what they are for! She also likes taking all the toys and hiding them in her bed or different spots around the house.

Doson does not know any basic commands or even her name and could use some general obedience training. She is not mischievous or poorly behaved, and can be trusted when left alone but may chew on her toys or dog bed if left unsupervised.

Her ideal home is one that provides her with lots of stimulation (walks, playtime, toys) and is willing to be patient with her at first. She is shy and will take some time to open up to her new family, but once she trusts you she is very loving and sweet. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Doson is patiently waiting!
