Meet Chowder! Chowder was rescued along with his brother and multiple other Chows when they were found dumped in a field. Fortunately rescuers were able to trap and get them to safety. We were notified of them shortly as they were not doing well in the shelter, with some shuffling around we were able to get both out. Chowder was covered in foxtails and spikes. Even though he was severely matted and uncomfortable he allowed the groomer to give him a full brush out and grooming. Chowder is a submissive and sweet boy who loves to be around dogs and his people.
Chowder is overall an extremely easy going boy who can lounge all day with you or join you on an adventure! We are looking for a home that understands this breed and will continue to train and show Chowder what it means to be in a home. Chowder will thrive in a home that will not leave him alone for extended periods and one that will continue socializing. He would be great in a home with another dog as he loves to play but will be ok as solo if there is a good schedule and routine. Chowder is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
