Meet Aru! On March 2025, as wildfires rapidly spread across Gyeongbuk, our rescue partners rushed to the frontlines. Amid the chaos, we found Aru—trapped by his leash and unable to escape the flames. He had survived severe heat and smoke exposure, suffering burns and trauma, but was rescued just in time. Today, Aru has fully recovered and is healthy, ready to bring love and joy to his forever family.
Aru is an energetic and affectionate little guy. He loves to respond when you call his name, often hopping and play-bowing in pure excitement. Though he can be slightly shy at first, his bright eyes show a deep curiosity and love for people. Aru thrives on interaction with humans and loves to be the center of attention. Aru adores being petted, getting belly rubs, and gentle massages. He enjoys slow, calm affection and is highly responsive to positive interaction. He’s a true people-lover, preferring human companionship over other dogs, and his playful personality makes every interaction a delight.
Aru is friendly with other dogs and often invites them to play, though he prefers gentle friends who don’t rush or push him. He enjoys playing in a soft, calm manner and is happiest with companions who respect his pace. Aru follows a leash well and enjoys walks with his human companions. He prefers affectionate interaction over vigorous exercise, so one good walk per day plus some indoor enrichment like toys or nosework is ideal. Aru still needs indoor potty training, but he’s smart and will respond well to consistent guidance.
Aru received treatment for full-body burns after the wildfire and has since recovered. His coat is soft and healthy, but due to the trauma, he may benefit from ongoing nutrition and hydration support. Aru would thrive in a loving, gentle household where he can receive consistent attention and affection. He prefers calm, routine walks over long excursions and enjoys relaxed bonding time with his family. With his playful charm and affectionate nature, Aru is sure to brighten any home and give back love many times over. Aru is patiently waiting!
