Meet Tater! This loving 3-year-old poodle is on a journey to find her forever home after being rescued from a puppy mill in Korea. She had surgery on her leg to fix a bone deformity she was born with but it does not bother her as she runs, plays and jumps with the best of them.
Although she is physically healthy, her time at the puppy mill has left her with some trauma, in that she does not like men/boys. She will need to be in a female only household. She loves to be around her human so much that we recommend a household where she is not left alone for more than 4hrs at a time. When left alone, she needs access to roam around. If she is kept in a confined space, even a bedroom, it will cause her to be anxious and act out.
If children are present, recommend female children aged 8 and older who can understand her need for space and patience. Once she feels safe, she transforms into a loving companion who adores cuddles, kisses, and tummy rubs. She’s also beginning to explore the joy of playtime with toys.
In addition to her cautious nature, she is protective of her home. She will bark at people entering the house, and we are actively working with her on this behavior.
She is crate trained for night time sleeping although she would love to sleep in your bed. She is doing great with potty training. She has not had an accident in over a month.
