Meet Wanda! Wanda is an adorable 1 year old Jindo mix. She is calm, sweet, gentle, and curious. The cutest thing is to watch her tilt her head back and forth as she tries to figure something out.  She is confident, but a little shy at first.   Give her a few treats and she warms right up.  She loves affection once she knows she can trust you. She is calm and polite when meeting new dogs.  She doesn’t know what to make of cats yet.  She has met a couple and is curious about them, but gives them their space.

Wanda is very smart and is a quick learner. She knows how to sit and lay down (“down”) and is working on other commands.  After watching her foster brother a few times she is slowly picking up the game of fetch. She is interested in toys, especially soft ones because she loves tearing them to pieces and then playing with all the new pieces. She hasn’t eaten any though and will let her foster mom take them away with zero resistance.  She shows no signs of resource guarding of any kind.

Wanda has met a few children under the age of 5 and at first, was a little skittish because they were loud and moved really fast,  but now doesn’t seem to mind. However, older children might be best.

She does not like to be in a crate but will let her foster mom put her in one if necessary.  She is better in an exercise pen and will go in willingly if food is involved, but if left unsupervised for long periods of time,  she will figure out how to escape (very smart).  Wanda much prefers to have the freedom to roam and likes her foster mom’s patio.  Wanda would probably love a yard, even a small one.   The good thing is,  she is house trained and has not had an accident in the house either at night or during the day when her foster mom is at work. Her foster mom works outside the home 8 hours a day but trusts Wanda enough to let her free roam in the house.

She would do well in a home with a consistent routine and a family that will be patient with her as she gets comfortable.  Wanda would do great with another dog, but her foster mom thinks she would be fine on her own as well since she would love to have all the hugs and kisses to herself.

Training will be really good for her because she loves to learn and is so smart.   Wanda will be a very loyal and dedicated dog to whoever is lucky enough to add her to their family. She is patiently waiting!
