Meet Pino! She is an adorable 2 year old terrier mix. Pino may be short for Pinocchio, but she can’t lie: she’s ready to love you with all her heart!

Pino is very sweet and wants nothing more than to climb into your arms and snuggle. She will happily lick your face or steal your socks any chance she gets. During the day, Pino loves to nap on her bed or the couch while her foster family works from home. Between meetings, she’ll flop over and request belly rubs or snuggles. She gets two 45 minute walks and quick pee breaks each day.

When she first arrived in the US Pino was very fearful. There were so many new people, sounds and smells! At first, even the sound of a door would spook her. Even while she was very scared, she still loved her foster family and would cuddle up to them and lick their faces. Over the last two weeks she has become more confident and learned to walk through doorways and hop into the car. She’s also working on ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘crate’.

Pino will sleep in her crate and won’t whine until she hears her foster family’s alarm go off and knows it’s time for her morning walk. She is house-trained and has not had any accidents indoors. She’s very playful with all people and dogs. Pino is a picky eater and wouldn’t touch her kibble at first. It turns out that Pino(t) pairs well with cheese! Some chopped mozzarella or chicken mixed in with her kibble does the trick, and her foster family is slowly working towards just feeding her kibble. Her soft coat sheds significantly, so consistent grooming (and a good vaccuum!) are a must.

The ideal adopter for Pino would be committed to continuing to build her confidence and work on her fearfulness. She will need a leader to teach her basic obedience and leash manners. If you’re committed to Pino, she’s ready to love and lick you with all of her heart!

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Pino is patiently waiting!
