Meet Ryan! Ryan is an adorable and affectionate 1 year old Jindo mix. In the first few days, it may take some time for Ryan to be comfortable around new people. But once he trusts his people, he can be welcoming to even new guests and will love your affection through treats, head rubs, and cuddle sessions. He will ask for pets or cuddles by putting his head in your hand, giving your hand kisses, or giving you his paw.
Even though Ryan was nervous in his first few days, he showed no signs of aggression to people and dogs. Once he opened up (around day 3), his foster learned that he is very playful with their dog and affectionate to people. He is quiet and only barks on occasions when there is a sudden or unexpected noise.
Ryan has been very easy to integrate in his foster home and follow their structures. He has an “off-switch” and calm/mellow energy when inside the house, especially when he goes to his bed or crate. He knows basic house training foundations like how to sit, come, shake, go to his bed/place, go to and sleep in his crate. On leash, he does not pull much and is not reactive to other people or barking dogs. However, his prey drive comes out especially when he’s around birds.
Ryan is the happiest and opens up quickest when out adventuring on a walk or hike. You can see it in his smiley face and bounciest tail. He would do best with an active person or family who would enjoy taking him on long walks, hikes, runs, etc. Additionally, it is necessary that Ryan’s forever home allows Ryan to open up at his pace and understands the unique responsibilities that come with new and nervous rescues. Ryan is patiently waiting!
