Meet Popo! Popo was one of 9 dogs rescued from a dog farm in Gangjin, South Korea. She was saved during the “final grace-period” summer before South Korea’s dog meat ban penalties took full effect — a period when farm operators were rushing to profit before shutting down. Popo is now starting her second chapter as a companion dog.

Popo is an energetic, playful sweetheart who loves being around her people. She chases toys with enthusiasm, especially balls and squeaky toys, and enjoys nose-work-style activities where she gets to sniff and search. She’s food-motivated and not picky at all — treats make her bounce with excitement. Though she can be a little shy in the beginning, Popo is VERY affectionate with people and enjoys full-body petting and attention. When something scares or overwhelms her, she leans on her person for comfort, and with a steady, patient guardian she works through it bravely.

Popo would do best with a family who can give her plenty of movement, play, and affection, and who can be patient while she settles into a new home. Small, consistent wins and encouragement will help her grow more confident and trusting over time. We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog. Popo is patiently waiting!
