Brief Bio: Meet Whipple! Whipple is a very special boy who has a gorgeous sable coat that sheds minimally and will probably weigh around 20lbs full-grown. Whipple was rescued him after he was found living in the bushes near the railroad tracks for over 6 weeks! Whipple was infested with fleas, underweight, and petrified of people, but is now healthy & looking for his forever home. Whipple is fantastic with dogs/cats, and working on his crate-training and house-training skills. He is curious, extremely clever, and learns things very quickly. However, perhaps due to his rough past, Whipple is very skittish around people and anxious in new surroundings. With time and reassurance though, he will eventually warm up to you for love & pets.
Due to his timid nature, he would probably do best in a quiet household with another well-socialized dog, with no small children. He is, however, young and active, so his adopter must be willing to take him out on daily outings. He is an EXCELLENT running partner, and currently goes on long bicycle runs with his foster parents. This scruffy boy is looking for someone special to spend the rest of his life with – someone who has the time and patience to continue training and socializing him, someone who is able to take him on lots of new adventures, someone who is able to show him that the world is not a scary place. Whipple will be up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered prior to adoption. He is not the dog for everyone, but we know that his perfect home is out there.
