No one said it would be easy, they only said it would be worth it.
Meet Popeye! Popeye was found on a farm in Auburn severely dehydrated. He was rescued from a cage that had been his prison for over a year. Covered in feces, and eyes matted shut, he was non responsive and just stood with his head down.
After a couple weeks on antibiotics and good food and plenty of walks and fresh water he doesn’t look or act like the same dog. He is a gentle sweet companion for any family that can give love to a dog in his senior years. Although his muzzle is gray, he still has a spring in his step and not showing signs of joint problems. He loves his walks outside. Popeye is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
If you have extra time on your hand and would like to help please consider volunteering! Rescue groups need dedicated volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, home checks, transports, etc. All of these things help enable the rescue to expand their network and help more dogs in need.
