Meet Phoebe, a spunky, 1 1/2 year old female dachshund, rescued from a puppy mill in Taiwan.

Phoebe is not yet housebroken (her favorite word is “No!”) and leash training is in progress (she likes to bite the leash).  She sleeps well in a crate overnight.  Anything on the floor is fair game to this gal. Toilet brushes and shoes make good chew toys and her long snout allows her to reach through a pet gate to snatch toys, socks, etc.  She will bark at unfamiliar sounds (and Ted Lasso).

Phoebe is a huge toy lover especially if it squeaks.  She’ll even try to fit (sometimes successfully) more than one toy in her mouth at time.  She’ll drop a ball at your feet if she wants you to throw it. Lots of chew toys is a requirement in order to save your shoes.  Belly rubs are a must, but only after she learns that she can trust you. Phoebe loves people and does well with dogs of all sizes.

What a character!  Play time is all the time.  (Except for nap time and bed time.).  Her back end hasn’t quite figured out how to keep up with her front end, as evidenced by watching her jump on your lap. Yet, she will fly across a room to get a toy she believes belongs to her.  Her jumping needs to be brought under control to protect her long back from damage over time.

Big dogs, small dogs, Phoebe loves them all!  She’s brave enough to play with the big dogs, frequently gets knocked over and stepped on, yet gets right back up for more.  Got a race track in your yard or house? You’re going to need one for this gal that does hundreds of laps daily.

Phoebe is looking for the right high energy home that has lots of love and patience to give. Other young dogs in the household would be a plus, but is not necessary. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Phoebe is patiently waiting!
