Brief Bio:

Meet Doris! Doris was rescued along with other stray puppies when they were found huddling in a pile of garbage. Luckily rescuers were able to get them out of the dump site and to the vet for a full check up. We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy. Doris is patiently waiting!

"Hello Melody, We are so in love with Sadie Mei (fka Doris)! She is so cute! She is also such a cuddle bug, and really smart and sweet and playful. We didn’t really know what to expect. We’ve never had a dog, and we were a little worried about adopting a rescue, but we have been so impressed with how comfortable, well-behaved, and loving this little girl has been since joining out family. She is our Mei Mei ( little sister) and has wiggled her way into all our hearts. We are looking forward to taking her on hikes, camping trips, and beach adventures.

From the moment I stumbled upon the Love and Second Chances website and submitted the application, Melody and her foster dog families in Taiwan have been so helpful and communicative. The photos and videos while we decided on which pup, and after while waiting for Sadie to arrive were great- cute and informative. It is clear that Sadie had a loving foster family in Taipei who helped her become an established dog and ready companion.

Did I know how special these Formosan Mountain Dogs are? No! But now I am part of a community of FMD enthusiasts who have all fallen for these funny pups from across the Pacific. Thank you Melody, foster momma Piper, and Love and Second Chances for bringing Sadie Mei into our lives! Lots of love and doggie kisses, The Gubser Family"

How to help?

If you have extra time on your hand and would like to help please consider volunteering! Rescue groups need dedicated volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, home checks, transports, etc. All of these things help enable the rescue to expand their network and help more dogs in need.
