Meet Chepita! Chepita was found at a construction site on a farm without nearby neighbors, most likely abandoned by her previous owners. She was rescued by a 13-year-old boy who was on his way home. He brought her to Dr. Jesus Suarez in Monteverde, Costa Rica where she was treated for torsal tick and flea infestations and anemia. Chepita is all healthy now and ready to find her forever home!

Chepita is great with other dogs and cat tested! She’s great with people and very friendly. She walks great on leash and doesn’t pull or jump. Chepita is a very smart dog and even knows her way back to her foster home on walks!

Chepita was rescued along with Vida, a lab/terrier mix. They have traveled together from Costa Rica to Los Angeles and finally to the SF Bay Area. Because they spent over 2 months together, they find companionship with one another. Chepita cries when she can’t see Vida. We are hoping they can find a forever home together, but they will also be ok separated. Chepita most likely will need a home with another dog because she loves having that companionship so much.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of the family. Chepita is patiently waiting!
