Meet Richard! Richard was rescued just before euthanasia at the Hwaseong shelter in Korea. Despite his difficult past, he has an incredibly loving heart and a gentle spirit that shines brighter every day. Richard is the definition of a loving, polite, and gentle dog. He feels secure when being petted and loves leaning his full body into his person. Even when excited, he approaches calmly with excellent manners. He waits for eye contact first, as if asking for permission to greet someone. He has no aggression at all. If he dislikes something, he may briefly hesitate, but he immediately accepts guidance. He completely trusts his handler and is very easy to manage — he accepts baths, paw cleaning, and handling of sensitive areas without protest.

Richard would thrive in a calm, loving home with plenty of companionship. Richard is happiest when he can stay close to his person, snuggle, and go on multiple walks (3+ times a day). A family that enjoys quiet time together but can also provide a positive, social environment where he can meet friendly people would be perfect. He truly loves humans — he believes in us with all his heart. Richard is patiently waiting for a home to call his own!
