Meet Mack! In the biting cold of winter, our rescue partners discovered 24 dogs abandoned on the rooftop of a house in Daejeon. With no shelter from snow or freezing temperatures, the dogs were left to survive on bare concrete—among them were newborn puppies barely two weeks old, neglected adults, and even pregnant mothers. Some of the puppies were so desperate for food that they face-planted into their bowls, still toothless and frail. It was a heartbreaking scene, but fortunately, every single dog was rescued from the rooftop in time. Now safe indoors, they are finally warm, protected, and able to rest without fear. Mack was one of these puppies—rescued early in life and given the chance to grow up knowing safety and care.

Mackin is a social, affectionate puppy with a gentle and trusting nature. Despite his rough start, he has grown into a happy little boy who loves closeness, comfort, and companionship. Being held, leaning against people, and staying close are some of his favorite things. Mack is extremely people-friendly. He approaches both familiar caregivers and volunteers with a wagging tail, asking for affection and attention. He enjoys being cuddled and touched and shows no guarding or avoidance behaviors. Sudden, forceful approaches can startle him, but with gentle handling, he quickly relaxes.

Mackin gets along well with other dogs and is happy to make friends with everyone he meets. He has not yet interacted with very large dogs, but with dogs his size and temperament, he shows playful and social behavior. Having a confident, people-friendly canine companion could help him feel even more secure. As a young puppy, Mack has a healthy, playful energy level and benefits from two or more walks per day, balanced with plenty of rest. Mack is very tolerant of handling and grooming. Brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning are all accepted calmly with no resistance.

Luckily, Mack has tested negative for all major infectious diseases (Parvo / Corona / Distemper / Giardia) and tick-borne diseases, including heartworm. X-rays revealed Grade 1 patellar luxation in the left knee, with the right knee normal. Surgery is not required at this stage. Preventing excessive jumping and reducing strain on the left leg will help maintain joint health. Mack is adaptable and would do well in most home environments. Because he can be slightly timid, a home with a friendly, confident resident dog could help him feel more secure. He would thrive with a family that enjoys gentle interaction, offers soft resting spots, and continues his puppy training with patience and warmth.

Having survived abandonment at such a young age, Mack has grown into a loving, resilient puppy who simply wants comfort, safety, and companionship. He is ready to grow up cherished in a forever home that will guide him through the rest of his life with love. Mack is patiently waiting!
