Meet Jackson! 🐶 Jackson is a 4-year old Jindo mix. He is slow to warm up to new people and places, but once he does, he will charm the heck out of you! He is such a smart, sweet, gentle, cuddly, well-behaved, and silly boy who loves to go on walks, eat, sleep, and keep you company as you work from home.
Jackson’s typical day involves checking in with his humans in the morning to see if you’re up at the same time he’s up. He will prop his front paws up on the bed, give you kisses, nuzzle you, and try his hardest to cuddle with you. After petting him for a little while, he realizes that it’s not quite time to wake up yet and will go back to his bed and patiently wait until he hears your alarm go off. Jackson loves to go on leisurely zig zagging walks, where he sniffs every bush; tries to pounce on all of the lizards, birds, and squirrels; and looks back at you just to make sure you’re watching and following close behind. He is usually unfazed by other people, dogs, and loud cars whizzing by, though he does not like to walk behind idling cars.
He is learning how to play with other dogs, but also knows when to assert his boundaries, especially when other dogs bark at him or when they’re a little too enthusiastic for his mellow personality. Jackson has the best table manners and will sniff around, but never eat anything off of your plate. He loves it most when his humans hang out with him during his meals, which lasts about 3-minutes! He also doesn’t really like to jump on couches or beds and prefers a cozy blanket on the carpet nearby. Jackson is so quiet, you sometimes forget what room he’s in, but if anything seems out of place, he is the best watch dog!
Jackson is slowly learning commands and sometimes knows his name (he knows our voices better), but his recall isn’t always the best, so we would recommend that he stay on leash until he gets more practice with this. He also does not like it when the TV is on, though he has learned that he can just go into another room and all will be fine. Jackson does have an old injury on his right leg that didn’t heal quite right, but that doesn’t really seem to slow him down that much. Because of this, the vet said that he may develop arthritis and require more intervention in the future. Jackson is so great and ready to find his forever home!
We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Jackson in patiently waiting! ❤️
