Meet Trudy! A 4 year old, spunky, friendly, beautiful miniature dachshund rescued from a puppy mill in Taiwan. She is sweet as can be and will steal your heart in a matter of minutes.
Trudy walks well on a leash, although she will put on the “breaks” at times for no apparent reason. She is crate trained: there is some whining if you crate her during the day, but will sleep through the night without any incidents. Aside from a couple of steps, she’ll need to be carried up and down the stairs. She will bark at unfamiliar faces until she meets and greets the person. Although not aggressive, Trudy is still learning her manners when it is treat time. Trudy’s housebreaking is in progress, so patience will be required.
Trudy is finally discovering the joy of toys. She loves the little toys and has loads of fun dragging around her blanket. Belly rubs are mandatory and your lap is her preferred location for a nap. Trudy loves people probably more than other dogs but gets along fine with other dogs in the household.
What a character! Aside from nap time and bed time, play time is all the time. She’ll run circles around you, the room, the yard, and the island in the kitchen, usually with a toy in her mouth. Trudy would adjust well to apartment life as well as a home with a yard. She comes fully loaded: she is spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and dewormed.
We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Trudy is patiently waiting!
