Hello there! My name is Sumi (“Sumi” means “beautiful” in Korean).  I’m a 2-year-old Pomeranian with a fluffy, all-white coat. I’m a lovable little dog weighing in at a perfect 12 pounds. Cuddling is my superpower, so I hope you’re into snuggling and affection. I’m a social butterfly and love to greet everyone with a big, sloppy kiss, no matter their age.

I was born in Korea and spent my early life in a puppy mill, which wasn’t the best situation. But luckily, a rescue organization in Korea saved me and gave me a temporary home. Later, Love and Second Chances invited me to join them in the United States, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity.

I’m smart as a whip! Can you believe I learned to sit on day one with my foster humans? Since I’m food-motivated, it’s pretty easy to train me. I’m a pro at playing catch and tug-o-war with my favorite toy.

Food is my ultimate motivator, and I’m surprisingly smart enough to open the playpen door to get my grub.  My manners at dinnertime need improvement, as I will nudge my way into others’ food bowls.  So until my manners improve, I dine alone so as not to bother other dogs.

I’m crate-trained, going into my crate willingly and sleeping through the night without a peep. Because my foster human trusts me, I don’t need to be crated during the day while she’s working or out running an errand. I’m potty-trained with a dog door, although like most pups, there have been a few accidents.

Leash training was a breeze, and I love, love my walks! I see my foster human heading towards the door, and I’m there, waiting patiently for her to put on my leash. Sometimes I get so excited that I can’t help but sneak in some kisses.

I haven’t had a chance to interact with the big dogs yet, but I’m good with small to medium-sized dogs. And kids! I love kids! From the little ones to the teenagers, I love them all!

Barking? Not really my thing. If the resident dog in the house barks, I might join in. If the doorbell rings, I’ll let my foster mom know someone’s at the door, but I quickly stop barking.

I’m looking for a loving and caring family that can keep up with me. Kids are great, and other dogs are awesome too. I’m an active little girl, so the more energy the better. Give me lots of cuddles, toys, walks, training, and playtime, and I’ll be your best friend forever!

If you think you’re the perfect family for me, I’d love for you to fill out an application and tell me a bit about yourselves. Do a great job on that application; my foster mom is super committed to my well-being and will be very careful in choosing potential adopters. Maybe we’ll even meet up and find a forever home together!
