Meet Sparky! Sparky is an adorable 1 year old Jindo mix. “Sparky” is a gentle friendly family dog. He enjoys going on walks especially with other dogs. Very laid back and playful. Sparky doesn’t show any signs of food aggression. He tends to follow other dogs when walking and playing. Sparky likes to play with other dogs in the neighborhood, at the park off leash (in an enclosed area). He gets along with all the other dogs he’s met and shares his toys without any issue. He has been learning a lot from other dogs.

He is very quiet in terms of barking (only barks when the mail man drops off the mail) and is obedient, but can be stubborn if we are asking him to do something that he doesn’t want to do. Sparky is friendly with other people, however it may take him a minute if someone comes to visit his home. But once he realizes the visitors are family/friends he warms up and wants to be pet and play. Sparky likes to be in the room where the family is so he is definitely a pack dog. Sparky has his bed in the the hallway as he likes to be in between all of the bedrooms. He goes to his bed when everyone goes in to their dormitory and wakes up when everyone comes out.

Sparky likes to play fetch and nap on soft surfaces. His favorite toys are squeaky balls. Sparky learned several English commands such as “Sit”, “Shake” (both hands), “Stay” and “Lay Down”. He is ok in his kennel and good leash. He did have mild separation anxiety when he first arrived at his foster home. But after some time and being told not to scratch at doors, Sparkly hasn’t shown it anymore.

The right family for Sparky will be one that is home most of the time and can take him on walks/hikes and take him to the park to play. The family will need to be patient with him while he adjusts. Sparky likes to be carried (if you can lift him) and loves to be pet under his chin. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy! Sparky is patiently waiting!
