Meet Rookie! Rookie is a loving 5 months old, shepherd/hound mix! Rookie loves everyone he meets almost as much as he loves food. He is super sweet, curious, and always wants to play!
Rookie is uncertain at first when meeting new dogs, especially if they’re big, but quickly warms up and wants to play chase. He likes following his foster’s cats around the house and has tried multiple times to try to get them to play with him. He is very food motivated and will patiently sit near his food bag when he thinks it’s time for a meal. Once he finishes eating he will run to every other food bowl in the house to see if there is anything left.
He has been consistently using pads and is now working on going outside. He takes naps and sleeps in the crate with no issues but will whine to be let out when he’s thirsty or needs to use the bathroom. He has lots of puppy energy and when he’s done playing he just wants to snuggle with you. Rookie does need to work on leash training as like most puppies, he currently just wants to go wherever he wants and will protest (sit) if he doesn’t want to walk anymore.
Rookie is a very fun and sweet pup and will be an amazing companion. He is looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a puppy. Rookie is patiently waiting!
