Meet Rie! Sweet Rie is an enthusiastic, happy, playful, teenage doggo-girl. Her favorite hobbies are shoving the tug-rope in your face, running crazy-time zoomies around the yard, wrestling like a Tazmanian devil, bringing sticks inside and tearing them to shreds on the couch, and snuggling at the foot of the bed at night.
About Rie: She is smart, energetic, athletic, and loving. She would excel in any sort of dog-sports, like agility, obedience, scent-work, etc. She would make a great jogging or hiking companion. She is house trained (although needs reminders in the rain), stays quietly in the crate, is great with other dogs, does well in the car, and doesn’t chew things up in the house. She hasn’t been tested with cats. She does pull on leash. She WANTS to learn, be challenged, explore, do exciting things. She hasn’t been exposed to a lot of noise and chaos, so she is nervous in places like crowded parks and pet stores, but she will quickly gain confidence with a good leader who can show her that she’s safe.
About you: Rie would thrive in an active home, with adults or older children. She would do well as an only dog, or with a mellow other dog, as long as she has daily outlets for running and spending her energy. (Dog-park, chasing a ball, swimming, etc.) She needs a home that has experience with, or is able to learn techniques for, using structure, energy management, brain-challenges, and routine. She is an awesome and brilliant dog, and like a brilliant and energetic 10 year old human child, she needs guidance in developing her awesomeness. With that guidance, you will be amazed and astonished at the almost human-like intelligence and communication she will show.
Rie is being fostered in El Sobrante / Richmond. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Rie is eagerly waiting!
