Meet Pocky! Pocky is an adorable 3 year old Dachshund mix. Pocky was found, with 16 other dogs,  in a farm located in Boryeong, South Korea. They were living in an extremely adverse environment, without any sunlight and full of excrement on the floor. The farmer was intellectually disabled; it seemed that he had been accepting abandoned dogs, inbred them, and planned to raise some of them for gaesoju (dog soju), which is a “medicinal” broth strained from dog meat. CARE managed to make the farmer give up ownership of the dogs and handed them over to the local government in October, 2022.

Pocky is a very sweet and chill little pup! He’s shy at first, but with a bit of time and care, he blossoms into a curious and spunky guy. He enjoys going on walks and will often have spurts of energy as he explores everything around him. Pocky is content lounging on the couch and taking naps, and also loves short play times with toys.

Pocky would do well in a home with another dog that he can gain confidence from and play with. His ideal family will be patient as he’s still getting used to a regular potty routine (he’s fairly good with pads!) and can get a bit distracted when learning commands (just starting to get sit!).

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Pocky is patiently waiting!
