Meet Po! Po’s rescuer took Po on a “field trip” from the Kauai Humane Society while on her honeymoon in October. She fell in love instantly but knew welcoming him into their home would be a real challenge because of their existing dog/s reactivity. She told the shelter to call her if Po ever ends up on a list to be euthanized and sure enough, 2 weeks later, him and 4 other dogs were highly at risk. She had him flown to her immediately and have been working to get him acclimated by giving him structure, stability and love ever since.

Po is a very emotional, sweet, affectionate creature. He needs a home where he will get a lot of attention and not be left home alone for long periods of time. He would not be a good fit for someone who leaves for a 9-5 job each day. Po absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with one who likes to play with him. He is definitely a pack animal and doesn’t do well alone.

Po loves kids. He is very gentle, sweet and tolerant with them. Po should go to a home where someone can commit to walking him 2x per day, has a backyard to play and is willing to get him the little bit of professional training that he still needs due to his separation anxiety. He needs a home where someone wants an affectionate dog because he loves to cuddle and is always asking for belly rubs and pets. Po is not food aggressive and does not counter surf. You can take a bone out of his mouth and he doesn’t care. His main goal is to please his owners which makes him very trainable.

We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owing and raising a dog as a member of their family. Po is patiently waiting!
