Meet Ollie! Ollie is a sweet and gentle 4.5 months old shepherd/hound mix. He loves to cuddle, play, and is food motivated. He is the sibling of Sora and Toby and is currently being fostered in Oakland where he enjoys living with his foster family and playing with their 2 year old Jindo. He gets along well with other dogs he meets and shows no signs of fear, aggression, or resource guarding — though he is slightly shy when meeting larger dogs and will need time to warm up to them. He is a huge cuddler and will come up to you and snuggle by your side. Ollie loves exploring new spaces and checking out his surroundings, he is playful and energetic like any other puppy, but also knows when to relax.
For training — he sleeps throughout the night in his crate and during his midday naps without whining, crying, or accidents but will cry to alert you when he’s up. He currently follows a structured schedule with his crate and potty time. His foster home skipped the potty pads and trained him to potty outside, so far no accidents after the first 3-4 days of training but will need time to adjust in his new home.
As for basic training and obedience, he responds to his name and knows how to “sit, wait, stay, lie down” but will benefit from basic obedience and further training. He’s a smart boy and extremely food motivated, so training will be no issue. Being part hound dog, Ollie does get vocal and will communicate as so. Ollie knows how to walk on a leash and will walk by your side with minimal pulling but does get easily distracted (picks up stuff in ground, slowing, stopping). He does love walks, being outside, and exploring new places so will make a great adventure pup. Currently, Ollie is growing in his adult teeth so he benefit from chew toys and tugging.
Ollie is such a sweet puppy with expressive puppy dog eyes and will make a great addition to any family that understands the responsibilities of owning, raising, and training a puppy. Ollie is patiently waiting!
