Meet Mia! Mia is an adorable 11 months old FMD mix. This sweet girl has acclimated very quickly to her new surroundings and brings out her playful personality a little more each day! She can be a bit shy and timid at first, especially in a new environment, but she loses a bit of her shyness each day to the point where now she has no problem encroaching on her foster-sister’s personal space and wanting to lead the way when walking together. She greets you at the door with hugs (she really does give the best hugs!) and wants just as much attention from her foster family that they give her foster-sister (if not more). If she feels overwhelmed by other dogs approaching her at the dog park and invading her personal space, she’ll go to the nearest human to shield her to make her feel safe. She’s also good at letting the other dogs know that she’s not quite ready to play just yet. She’s recognized as Mia Mouse and Mama Mia amongst all the dog families she’s met so far!
Mia is spunky, sassy, and the sweetest girl all around. She is good on leash and has relatively decent recall but will need more training for reinforcement. She has been good going to the bathroom outside but has had 2 accidents inside the home. Of course all of this change is still a lot for her to process but she’s making wonderful progress every day and it shows.
Mia has been around children with no problems. She’s intrigued by cats and wants to check them out closer but has not been let loose around them. She loves belly rubs and going on car rides! She has the best bunny rabbit hops and loves to frolic around the backyard with her stuffed toys! She enjoys fishy treats the best. She loves to curl up and cuddle on the couch and take naps next to you.
She will need to be a part of a family that will really have the time, patience, and understanding to help her get comfortable in her new furever home and make her feel safe, secure and loved. Mia would thrive in a family that has an older dog to help guide her and make her feel more at ease. She has so much love and sweetness to share. She would make the best addition to a family who’s ready to love her and be loved like crazy in return!! Mia is patiently waiting!
