Meet Maisie! Maisie is an adorable 5 year old Terrier mix. One of our LSC volunteers happened to be getting into her car at a dog-park, and saw a man taking Maisie and her little family out of a trash can in the back of a van. He let them loose into the parking lot! Our volunteer and several bystanders chased and collected these little dogs, and the man put them back into the trash can and drove away. We found out that he took them from there to the shelter, where they weren’t doing well at all. They were shut down and trembling in fear. We immediately went and got them, found loving foster homes, and now Maisie and her family are thriving and happy!

Maisie is initially shy and nervous, but she is a sweet and loving velcro pup who gives tiny kisses and loves attention once she feels safe. Maisie is a great couch companion and snuggle bug.  She knows how to use the doggy door to go out to potty, to “Sit”, and does a double paw “Beg”. She also likes chewing on nylon chews and is a good napper after some backyard zoomies. She does get a little nervous and shakes when things are a little too loud or new, but settles in once she knows she’s safe.

We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning a small dog. Maisie is patiently waiting for a home to call her own!
