Meet Levi! Levi was rescued from South Korea in October 2023, where he was allegedly hit by a car.  He had hip surgery along with surgery on his front left and back right legs. He has since lost weight and is a lot more mobile. We are unclear if he was in an abusive environment but we heard that after his accident, he was never picked up from the vet by his previous owner.

Levi is a very smiley dog! He is happy to be in your presence and is very affectionate and gentle. He just wants to be in the same space as you and is very low maintenance. His energy levels are quite mellow especially for a Border Collie- he is learning to play fetch and loves to explore the backyard. Once done exploring, Levi finds a nice spot in the shade to relax. Levi is great with puzzle feeders and loves to be mentally stimulated. He loves food so he needs a slow feeder so he can digest his food.

He’s submissive with other dogs and loves to chase them. He has not shown dominant or aggressive behaviors to other dogs. He is cautious and a little nervous upon meeting them and is still learning how to play. He prefers to chase and keep a slight distance.

In the past 8 months with training, Levi is less reactive to cars and bikes, demonstrating that he is teachable. High value treats go a long way with him. When Levi is comfortable in his environment, he truly loves being with his humans.

Levi belongs to a home with a backyard to explore. He LOVES chasing the hose and sprinklers. The backyard needs to be fenced in because he chases cars and bikes.

The ideal home should have children over the age of 16- he is anxious around small children. Levi would be best suited someone who is experienced with herding dogs or Border Collies to address the car and bike reactive behavior. We are looking for a home who understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of their family. Levi is patiently waiting!
