Meet Ian! Ian was rescued from the shelter barely alive when rescuers got to him. He was severely emaciated at only 5lbs, suffering from heartworm along with a broken leg that had healed by the time he was rescued. It is horrible to even imagine the pain and suffering he endured while he slowly got weaker at the “shelter”. Fortunately rescuers were able to get him out of the shelter and to the vet for a full check up. Ian has since gotten heartworm treatment and is now a healthy weight.

Unfortunately his leg had healed by the time he was rescued and surgery is not recommended, he moves around fine but has a little limp. Aside from this, Ian has been an amazing strength. Ian loves to be around his people and will guard the ones he love most regardless of his small size! Ian is not ideal for apartment homes due to barking when he is spooked or when someone is at the door. We are looking for a home that understands this breed and will continue to show Ian what it means to be in a loving home. Ian is patiently waiting!
