Elle is a 2 year old mix full of joy and love. She LOVES belly rubs. She likes to keep to herself, taking naps in or near her crate. But when you come into the room, she will run to you with her butt wiggling and then roll onto her back for rubs.
She loves spending most of her time napping in her crate, treating it like her den. However, she has started to show some territorial behavior around “her space” with her foster brother. He has continued to respect her space, but she will bark and bare her teeth if she thinks he’s too close. However, if her foster mom is present in the room, she rarely displays this behavior. We are working to slowly curb this regardless so if her new family has dogs or has dog visitors, everyone can stay safe.
Besides that, Elle is indifferent around other dogs (she much prefers her humans!). She hasn’t tried to play with her foster brother and ignores other dogs on her walks. However, Elle is skittish and nervous outdoors. She has shown sensitivity to sudden loud noises such as motorcycles and large cars so she will need some training to help her desensitize. But she walks excellently on leash, without any pulling, and ignores passing humans on her walks. She has low to medium energy levels so she’ll be happy with at least 30 minutes of walks a day. We recommend keeping up with her daily walk routine to help her overcome her nervousness outside. She’s also afraid of climbing up long flights of stairs, but we’re working on that too!
Elle is looking for a family who will continue working with her to conquer her fears and understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog.
