Dory

Meet Dory! After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, our rescue partners went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. The dogs were suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of the rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, our rescue partners also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, they finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With teamwork amongst many other partner rescue groups, they successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder’s possession. Among them was Dory, who was finally able to escape the harrowing world of a breeding operation driven by human green and embrace a new life.
Personality
Dory’s everyday is filled with lively activity and bustling energy. If she were a YouTuber, everyone would surely rush to hit the like, subscribe, and notification bell buttons. She embodies positivity and knows how to savor and make the most of even the simplest things in life, consistently bringing smiles to our faces. Dorys hobby is simply having fun, and her specialty is relishing delicious meals. When playing with other dogs, she gleefully darts around, carefree and unreserved in her playfulness, seamlessly transitioning from one group to another without a hint of hesitation. Amidst all this excitement, in order to capture the attention and affection of those around her, Dory approaches with locked eyes, barking joyfully, making it impossible for us to resist showering her with affection. She always finishes her meals so neatly that there’s no need to clean up afterward. Having spent so much time in a squalid cage, she occasionally steps in her own waste and then uses the same foot to scratch her head. Yet, when you encounter Dory, perpetually cheerful without any awareness of what’s amiss, you can’t help but burst into laughter.Needs help with
Dory is shy meeting new people and needs time to open up, espeically with men. She takes longer to trust men due to poor experiences in her past. Because she is shy, she is best in a home with kids 13+ who understands the leave her alone and let her open up at her own pace. She is in the process of learning to walk on a leash. Since she hasn’t been out of the confined cage for too long, outdoor excursions might seem a bit awkward to her initially. Instead of attempting long walks, consider taking her on short and gentle outings, allowing her to explore without feeling overwhelmed. As she occasionally barks to gauge our affection, it’s important to kindly reassure her that she’s cherished, even without the need for barking.Ideal family
Despite emerging from the shadows of breeding facilities, Dory exudes strength and positivity. Her affection knows no bounds – she lavishes love on both fellow dogs and people. We believe she would thrive in a lively and energetic family environment that matches her spirit. Keeping Dory engaged in physical activities would undoubtedly contribute to her happiness. If her family includes resident dogs, with the right guidance, they could learn to appreciate each other’s temperaments. She does best with dogs similar to her size or smaller. Dory is also great as the only dog in the home, she loves receiving all the attention she can get! Dory would also be a great fit for a multi-generational family setup. Please help Dory accumulate a wealth of joyful memories and diverse experiences, extending beyond the confines of her previous environment, thus shaping her into the happiest dog in the world.
