Meet Cody! Cody is an adorable 6 months old FMD/lab mix. Cody is very inquisitive and funny. Some of his favorite things to do is curl up on the bed or under the sheets or chase his friends around the yard. He is always on alert and tells his foster home when there is a noise or person outside the front door he doesn’t recognize. But he is not a barker in the sense that its nonstop. He does seem to have a strong prey drive, so likely needs a home without a cat.

Cody is cautious but not afraid of new people. He isn’t big on being held but does love getting belly rubs and affection. He is not food or toy aggressive, in fact, food doesn’t seem to be a huge motivator. He eats slowly and takes treats gently from you. His foster home is working on sit, come, and leave it with him, but he hasn’t mastered them yet. Cody is almost completely potty trained and tells his foster when he has to go outside and hasn’t had one accident in the house since being with them. He is crate trained, sleeps through the night without barking or whining, but doesn’t like sleeping alone. He is currently sleeping in the crate in the bedroom with his foster family at night.

Cody isn’t quite sure how going for walks works. He gets tangled and is constantly bumping into his foster parents with his nose to make sure they are still there. He wants to go for the walks but isn’t quite confident with the loud street noises and cars. With more practice and positive reinforcement, he will master walking on leash!

We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog as a member of the family. Cody is patiently waiting!
