Meet Bella! Bella was rescued from a horrible puppy mill along with many others, she was kept in a small filthy cage all her life and used solely as a means to make a profit. Bella is on the shy and skittish side but you can tell she really wants to trust and get affection. We don’t know what exactly happened to her while she was at the mill but she is very hand shy and will need continued socialization to help her gain confidence.

Bella has learned to communicate when she is giving consent to be picked up.  Because she’s a small dog, people take for granted that she may not always want to be picked up. As she opens up, she will show you when she feels comfortable being handled but the most important thing is allowing her the time she needs to open up. Bella would thrive most in a home with another small dog as a companion and guide to show her the world is not a scary place. Home without small kids would be best due to her shy and skittishness. Bella is very food motivated so a home that will continue to work with her confidence would be amazing!

We are looking for a home that understands the responsibilities of owning and raising a dog. Bella would love nothing more than to find a home to call her own!Â
