Meet BaekMi! BaekMi is an adorable 6 months old Jindo mix. She was discovered in a forest on Jeju island alongside her brother HeukMi and a third sibling who was found dead. BaekMi and her brother were rescued by a good samaritan and estimated to be 2.5-3 months old at the time. Ever since, BaekMi has been living in foster homes and learning how to live in a house.

BaekMi is a sweet, sassy, and playful puppy. With a forever home who can commit to BaekMi’s training, she has a lot of potential to grow into a fun and well-rounded family pet.

When BaekMi first came out of her kennel from a long trip to SF, she immediately greeted her foster parents with tail wags and kisses. BaekMi is very friendly to her foster parents and everyone they have welcomed into the home (including vets). She loves to give kisses and receive pets, yet isn’t needy for constant affection.

BaekMi has a lot of energy and is an extremely playful pup. She loves to play with other humans, dogs, soft toys, balls, sticks, her tail, and just about everything. BaekMi has a great toy drive, and her foster parents were surprised to see her retrieve and play fetch.

BaekMi is also highly food motivated and can be easy and fun to train new things. BaekMi initially showed signs of resource guarding around other dogs when she first arrived, but no longer shows signs around the fosters’ dog.

Lastly, BaekMi has a lot of separation anxiety. She begins barking as soon as her foster parents leave and it escalates. BaekMi requires a patient and committed handler who can continue crate training for her safety, or a home who can immediately partner with a trainer.

BaekMi’s ideal forever home is one who can commit to training, exposure/socialization, and setting boundaries in order to raise a puppy into a good canine citizen. She is patiently waiting!
